located in the historic center of las palmas, eco-apartment vegueta is a 5-minute walk from the cathedral. designed to be as respectful with the environment as it takes it offers free wifi and access to an open green patio to relax and enjoy a quiet time. the apartment was renovated in september 2018. it is a two room apartment, one for the bedroom and the other for the living room and kitchen. the apartment is equipped with a double bed, sofa bed, private bathroom, hairdryer, smarttv, fully equipped kitchen with fridge and microwave. there is a laundry room with washing machine, dryer, a clothes rack, an iron and an ironing table. it was designed with focus on caring for the environment. hot water runs with aerothermal energy, the new renewable energy that is able to extract energy from the air and transfer it to another place in the form heat. it features wooden floors der blaue engel and pefc certified, organic cotton bedding, organic cotton gots certified towels, bamboo mattress, eco fibers pillows ecolabel certified, and mattress and pillows’ covers made of tencel a natural fiber fsc and oeko tex 100 certified. there are also available eco-friendly soap&shampoo and eco laundry soap. the studio is located at the vegueta district, the birthplace of what is now las palmas de gran canaria. after more than five hundred years, this district of the city still is the most important area of the city's historical heritage. this district is prospering, with plenty of things to do, like go to the theatre, attend musical events, and try great food. vegueta is the place where you will find the oldest buildings in town, and where you can easily spend a couple of hours sightseeing. many of the streets have been closed to traffic. it is worth walking down the cobblestone streets, and see the wooden balconies of many of the buildings. another interesting thing to see, are the large patios of the buildings, full of plants, kept just like they used to be, hundreds of years ago. just 500 m away is calle triana, a busy shopping street with lots of bars, restaurants and theatres. las canteras beach is 5 km away. the central bus station is 10 minutes' walk away, and there is a big supermarket at 500 meters. weekly cleaning service is included on the price and airport shuttle service is available upon request.
