The apartment was recently renovated and while small sized (typical in this neighborhood), has an ample and well lit living room and sufficient sized room. Walls and doors are white to maximize light reflection on all areas. Kitchen is small but fully equipped. All areas have natural light from outside.

The apartment is East/West oriented.

The building has no elevator, so guests must climb the 2 stages on foot. It is an old building (pre-1755 earthquake) so elevators can only be found on a handful of few renovated buildings.

Bairro Alto is a fun and busy neighbourhood, mostly at night, with restaurants, bars, fado joints, nightclubs, tapas (petiscos) houses, clothing stores, vinyl shops, designer studios, designer stores, etc. The apartment's street also happens to be one of the least noisier ones, but still it is to be expected some street noise, especially during weekend nights.
