English: Rosemarie is the name of my unusual grandmother, who spent her contemplative twilight years surrounded by books and her artwork in this flat in the Wilhelmstadt neighbourhood of Berlin Spandau. As a granddaughter, I was very impressed by her aesthetic style of furnishing, which is both airy and inviting. When I inherited her flat, which I now maintain and rent out together with my life partner Jan, it was important to me to preserve this atmosphere as much as possible. For this reason, we want tenants inside who, like us, are attracted by this cosy style with books and pictures and do not need a luxury renovation to feel comfortable. In addition, we offer very fast internet (high-speed DSL: download up to 250 Mbit/s & upload up to 40 Mbit/s, as well as Smart-TV with 152 channels) and a cordial, problem-solving willingness to communicate in German, English and Spanish.
If you are looking for a place in Berlin where you can concentrate on your work and then peacefully enjoy your evening at home or along the extensive Havel promenade, you will also feel at home in the neighbourhood. Despite the tranquillity due to the elderly neighbours and the park-like property with old trees, which borders on a small branch of the Havel (you can watch ducks and herons from the balcony), the lively side of the Wilhelmstadt neighbourhood is only a few minutes' walk away: If you don't need one hip shop after the other, you will be greeted along Pichelsdorfer Straße with a quaint West Berlin charm of the 90s and find all the shopping options for your daily needs (supermarket, Asian shop, greengrocer, drugstore, pharmacy, household goods shop, post office) between shisha shops, snack bars, restaurants, exquisite shops and long-established pubs - of course, our neighbourhood also keeps up with the times in culinary terms and Jan and I are happy to provide insider tips.
If you are travelling to the vibrant city of Berlin by public transport for work or the weekend, you can find numerous buses within a five-minute walk. After two bus stops, you are at Rathaus Spandau (S+U) and Berlin Spandau train station (also for shopping in the Spandau Arcaden). Long-distance trains and regional trains leave from there, so that despite the peripheral location, you can be more mobile than in more central parts of Berlin: It takes 10 minutes to Zoologischer Garten station by regional express, 20 minutes by S-Bahn, 15 or 30 minutes to the main station, and 40 or 50 minutes to Alexanderplatz. The U7 from Rathaus Spandau (S+U) takes 26 minutes to Siemensstadt and the S-Bahn takes 60 minutes to Potsdam Babelsberg. The S-Bahn S9 runs directly from Berlin Spandau to BER Airport - Terminal 1-2 in 80 minutes and to Terminal 5 in 70 minutes.
By car, the B2, which runs through Wilhelmstadt, takes you eastwards to Messedamm and the A100 city motorway (and the Avus A115) in 15 minutes and to the Brandenburg Gate in 36 minutes. Heading south on the B2, it takes 35 minutes to Potsdam Sanssauci Palace and into the historical city centre.
P.S. By bike you can be in the middle of the forest Grunewald at the lake Teufelssee in 20 minutes.

German: Rosemarie ist der Name meiner ungewöhnlichen Großmutter, die ihren beschaulichen Lebensabend inmitten von Büchern und ihren Kunstwerken in dieser Wohnung im Berlin Spandauer Kiez Wilhelmstadt verbracht hat. Als Enkelin hat mich ihr ästhetischer Einrichtungsstil, der zugleich luftig und einladend ist, sehr beeindruckt. Als ich ihre Wohnung geerbt habe, die ich nun zusammen mit meinem Lebenspartner Jan pflege und vermiete, war es mir wichtig diese Atmosphäre so gut es geht zu erhalten. Aus diesem Grunde wünschen wir uns Mieter:Innen, die sich wie wir von diesem behaglichen Stil mit Büchern und Bildern angesprochen fühlen und keine Luxus-Sanierung benötigen, um sich wohl zu fühlen. Zusätzlich bieten wir ein sehr schnelles Internet (Highspeed-DSL: Download bis zu 250 Mbit/s & Upload bis zu 40 Mbit/s, sowie Smart-TV mit 152 Sendern) und eine herzliche, problemlösungsorientierte Kommunikationsbereitschaft auf Deutsch, Englisch und Spanisch.
Falls Sie einen Ort in Berlin suchen, an dem Sie konzentriert arbeiten und Sie anschließend Ihren Feierabend zu Hause oder entlang der ausgedehnten Havelpromenade friedlich genießen möchten, werden Sie sich auch in der Umgebung wohl fühlen. Trotz der Ruhe aufgrund der betagten Nachbarn und des parkähnlichen Grundstücks mit altem Baumbestand, welches an einem kleinen Seitenarm der Havel grenzt (vom Balkon aus lassen sich Enten und Fischreiher beobachten), zeigt sich in nur wenigen Gehminuten die quirlige Seite des Kiez Wilhelmstadt: Wer nicht einen hippen Laden nach dem anderen braucht, wird entlang der Pichelsdorfer Straße mit einem urigen West-Berliner Charme der 90er Jahre begrüßt und findet dort zwischen Shisha Läden, Imbissen, Restaurants, erlesenen Lädchen und alteingesessenen Kneipen alle Einkaufsmöglichkeiten des täglichen Bedarfs (Supermarkt, Asialaden, Gemüsehändler, Drogerie, Apotheke, Haushaltswarenladen, Post) – natürlich geht auch unser Kiez kulinarisch mit der Zeit und für Insider-Tipps sind Jan und ich gern zu haben.
Wenn es aufgrund der Arbeit oder des Wochenendes mit dem öffentlichen Nahverkehr in das pulsierende Berlin geht, lassen sich in fünf Minuten zu Fuß zahlreiche Busse vorfinden. Nach zwei Bushaltestellen befindet man sich (auch zum Shoppen in den Spandau Arcaden) am Rathaus Spandau (S+U) als auch am Bahnhof Berlin Spandau. Von dort fahren Fernzüge und Regionalbahnen, sodass man trotz der Randlage teilweise mobiler ist als in zentraleren Stadteilen Berlins: Mit dem Regionalexpress sind es 10 min, mit der S-Bahn 20 min bis zum Bahnhof Zoologischer Garten, in 15 bzw. 30 min ist man am Hauptbahnhof und in 40 bzw. 50 min am Alexanderplatz. Mit der U7 ab Rathaus Spandau (S+U) sind es 26 min bis zur Siemensstadt und mit der S-Bahn ist man in 60 min in Potsdam Babelsberg. Zum Flughafen BER – Terminal 1-2 fährt die S-Bahn S 9 direkt in 80 min von Berlin Spandau und zum Terminal 5 in 70 min.
Mit dem Auto ist man über die durch die Wilhelmstadt führende B2 in Richtung Osten in 15 min sowohl am Messedamm, als auch an der Stadtautobahn A100 (und der Avus A115) und in 36 min am Brandenburger Tor. Gen Süden fährt man auf der B2 in 35 min nach Potsdam Schloss Sanssauci in die Altsatdt.
P.S. Mit dem Fahrrad ist man in 20 min mitten im Grunewald am Teufelssee.
