The apartment is located just outside the historic center about 16 minutes walk from Porta Torre, the fortress that defended the entrance to the city. Inside the historic center there are the main attractions and points of interest such as the Gothic-style Cathedral, the panoramic funicular and the pedestrian path along the lake. The Educational Silk Museum illustrates the history of the Como silk industry, while the Volta Temple is a museum dedicated to the physicist Alessandro Volta. Further north are the gardens overlooking the lake of Villa Olmo and other elegant villas.
