3 rooms house of 150m² in Kiso

I am happy to introduce my gallery house alongside Nakasendo trail in Kiso Valley in Nagano-pref. This house was built in 1871 originally, it was used to be as a food shop and the family lived there for a long time. In 2023 the old house(Kominka) was renovated as gallery, however it keeps Japanese traditional rooms as it is and it has still remained some parts of Edo-Showa era style. In front of this house is the historic Nakasendo trail , you might feel the old days the people passed by. Located in Kiso-Fukushima, it is the place just between Tokyo and Kyoto. Express trains connects from Nagano, Matsumoto, and Nagoya. This house is located a short walk from the station and local shops, the house offers both convenience and tranquility. A perfect retreat for nomad workers, artists, writers, hikers and travelers seeking inspiration in a place where history and nature meet. 1F; Gallery, Office, Kitichen, Bathroom, Corridor 2F; Traditional Japanese room(Tatami rooms ; including Bedroom1,2,3) ,2,3, (Washitsu) Japanese room ; you can arrange your space. The Washitsu rooms are divided by fusuma (sliding paper doors), allowing you to freely open or close the space depending on the season, mood, or occasion — Simplicity and flexibility ; signature feature of Japanese traditional house. Not only for bedroom but also for living room or workplace, Japanese room can be flexible use. The tatami mattress at Bedroom3 were very old, it was installed about 100 years ago, there are very few craftsmen left in Japan who can make those tatami mats. Please accept it as it is.The Japanese room can be used as both a bedroom and a living room for relax. There is no furniture in the Japanese room to use and enjoy the space. and Futon For sleeping, we provide inflatable air beds and Futons(duvet), which can be easily moved and arranged anywhere you like. Guests are welcome to adjust the layout and bed positions to create their own comfortable space. room(Gallery) There are sofa set in the gallery, you can use the projecter and white walls became the big screen. The Gallery space is all yours, and if you have your bicycle or moterbike, you can keep them in the gallery space. room or Office There are some chairs and table. you can use it as a Workspace and dining area The Kitchen has minimal facilities and there are a table and chairs.(Some facilities are updating soon)
